In an earlier post, I outlined my political transformation from Liberal to Conservative. For me, Bill Clinton was my Obama in the 1990s. The “Hope and Change” doctrine was much of the same socialistic ambitions presented today. Young, foolish and inexperienced in life, I thought help from the government was harmless.
Time proved my assumptions to be wrong. The booming economy that was constantly being reported during the Clinton years was harder to realize. As I worked my way up, I saw my taxes move likewise. As I earned, the government took. I was making my way, and taxes were taking that away.
Another rude awakening for me was the bias of the media. Clinton was paraded, pampered and pimped into something he was not. The tolerance of his flaws by the press was unbearable. In comparison, no one in the workforce could have acted like Clinton and kept their job. The standards were different for the king.
Character counts down here in the bowels of America. For government and the media, character is someone in a movie – not an attribute of a President.
So, here we are today. Millions fell for the same lying mantra of government. Now we have a hollow statue of a man with charm and a boisterous voice. With this oracle, we have a plethora of deceit and lies being revealed. Obama is engaged in a troop surge after disagreeing with Bush on the same approach. Obama promised no lobbyists, but signed legislation with sweat stains of special interest. He complained about the deficit under Bush and “inheriting” a mess, yet has made that deficit even larger and even more jobs have been lost. He continues to support paying a financial success penalty to smaller nations based on science that is a complete hoax. The stimulus money was supposed to lower unemployment, yet has proven to be a mismanaged pile of debt that has not helped the job market. Health care reform was to be a community forum, yet evolves behind closed doors in Washington. On and on…
My question is, when will the young folks who hoped for change going to realize they have been hoodwinked? Luckily, empty pockets and empty stomachs have a way of turning pawns into Patriots.
Somewhere tonight furniture is flying in Washington, DC . Bill Clinton flew into North Korea and retrieved the two journalist hostages being held for months now. Hillary must be absolutely livid. The one chance she had to get rid of Bill in a communist hostage situation is over. Those dreams of him being tied to a missile will not come true after all. Instead, she is thinking Bill did his usual. He slid in and out so fast they didn’t even know he came. North Korea, that is.

"In and Out. Thats all Bill can do!"
To make matters worse, Hillary gets no credit. Obama’s staff denied his they had anything to do with the negotiations. Who do they think is stupid now? A former President of the United States with lifetime Secret Service security flew all the way to an Axis-of-Evil, and Obama’s people had nothing to do with it? Sure and I have some great US gold to sell you…
At first glance this really seems rather harmless. But, you know there were trinkets exchanged in the background. So, my advice to any traveling US citizens out there is to watch your back. Foreigners are going to expect Billary Clinton to show up with smiles and some booty in the back to release your kidnapped self from the grip of tyranny.
Oh, but you might want to be careful who kidnaps you because Obama will not bargain with just anyone. Make sure the country of origin is an enemy of the US. Make sure the leader has threatened the US. Finally, make sure Jimmy Carter likes them. If they meet these requirements, you might not have to suffer like John McCain did.
During the 1992 Presidential election season, I was a young man working toward a college education. My vote was cast for Bill Clinton mainly because of his campaign promise to provide free college tuition in exchange for several years of civil service. Also, he represented the change and hope for a future I was still yet to build.
Over the next few years, I was so busy working and finishing my education that I almost didn’t notice the unfulfilled campaign promise I had hoped for. What I did notice was my income being cut by Clinton tax increases and a never ending saga of lies and empty promises.
The best lesson the Clinton years taught me was not to rely on hope – especially hope in a person or the government. Instead, as I worked to make my achievements a reality, I gained faith in my own abilities. Faith has been the foundation of my success in life.
Sixteen years later, another president has been elected using the slogan of hope. But, many who voted for hope in Obama and the government will see all of that eventually fade away. They will realize that the best things in life come from the endeavors of their own hands, not government. You can have faith in that.
