Raleigh, N.C. Shows Up to Tea Party
Conservatives are fired up after the Tax Day Tea Party on the capitol lawn in Raleigh, NC. All in all there was a very positive message.

Against the wishes of the American people, King Obama still tells us that “…another year of negotiations…” will not matter. Negotiation involves input from both sides of an argument. So far, Democrats and Obama have been dedicated to not listening to any opposing views. That is not negotiations, that is coercion. That is tyranny.
Democrats know that they are going to be creamed at the ballot box this year. Obama knows he will not have another chance to manhandle such legislation through. Now is the time for Democrats to move. This will be the last time in a generation to get this passed.
But, timing is everything. Now is just not the right time to force something on Americans. We want to be fat and happy. Unemployed and underemployed Americans are not fat and happy. Americans are not happy unless they have a job – a good job, please. Therefore, Americans will go to the ballot box to reverse the imposition of our Democrat power-hungry politicians. It is very unlikely that Generation X will ever vote Democrat again.
But, Republicans are not out of the woods, either. The thrift-spending by George W. Bush and Company is not easily forgotten. Republicans have demonstrated how inadequate their own leadership abilities are by practically laying down to Democrats when they were in power. When Pelosi and her mobsters took the helm, the remaining Republicans took far too long to find their principles. Therefore, it is rather suspicious that many Republicans are finding their conservative roots only when Obama seems to be nailed to the wall of desperation. Even if Republicans take control of Congress in 2010, they will run the risk of being just as ineffective and hapless as before. Audacious centrist-talking Democrats could emerge and take many back down the European-Socialist Damascus Road.
This is why the entire Congress needs a reboot. Until every existing Congressman is replaced with newbies, the vices of Washington, DC will remain tucked away in the shadows. While I do support Republicans right now in order to send Democrats back to their villages, I am skeptical of Republicans for the long-term. It is parties such as the Tea-Party and the Conservative-Party who will be our next great hope.
Where are you Obi-Wan? Only time will tell.

Karl Rove declared this week that the State Of The Union speech is not a reset button for Obama. Rove is right. Elections are the reset button. This year, millions are posed to give it a push.
Dick Armey (R-Texas) was rallying the Republican troops today. The former GOP leader of the House issued a challenge to get “small-government, grass-roots conservatives” back in the Republican camp.
Good luck.
Armey acknowledged the difficulty with this considering the overall failure of the 1994 Republican Revolution to solidify and sustain their “Contract With America” for a prolonged period of time. As I recall, the Republicans started with a strong start steering Clinton into passing welfare reform and less government spending. However, Republicans always acted like the underdogs, never putting up much of a fight. Eventually, they morphed into big spending Democrats while hiding from criticism of political enemies and the press. They became spineless weenies.
So, the tea-party people like me are concerned about electing so called Republicans back into office. We fear that over time that the same echo of history will be repeated. We don’t want them to be voted in and then act like visitors to Washington.
Republican Rep. John Shimkus echoed Armey’s concerns saying, “…you walked away from your core principles and values, that’s why you have an outside conservative movement because they have no home.”
Thats why we need to hit the reset button. Lets just get all new blood into Washington so we can prove who is really in charge.

In an earlier post, I outlined my political transformation from Liberal to Conservative. For me, Bill Clinton was my Obama in the 1990s. The “Hope and Change” doctrine was much of the same socialistic ambitions presented today. Young, foolish and inexperienced in life, I thought help from the government was harmless.
Time proved my assumptions to be wrong. The booming economy that was constantly being reported during the Clinton years was harder to realize. As I worked my way up, I saw my taxes move likewise. As I earned, the government took. I was making my way, and taxes were taking that away.
Another rude awakening for me was the bias of the media. Clinton was paraded, pampered and pimped into something he was not. The tolerance of his flaws by the press was unbearable. In comparison, no one in the workforce could have acted like Clinton and kept their job. The standards were different for the king.
Character counts down here in the bowels of America. For government and the media, character is someone in a movie – not an attribute of a President.
So, here we are today. Millions fell for the same lying mantra of government. Now we have a hollow statue of a man with charm and a boisterous voice. With this oracle, we have a plethora of deceit and lies being revealed. Obama is engaged in a troop surge after disagreeing with Bush on the same approach. Obama promised no lobbyists, but signed legislation with sweat stains of special interest. He complained about the deficit under Bush and “inheriting” a mess, yet has made that deficit even larger and even more jobs have been lost. He continues to support paying a financial success penalty to smaller nations based on science that is a complete hoax. The stimulus money was supposed to lower unemployment, yet has proven to be a mismanaged pile of debt that has not helped the job market. Health care reform was to be a community forum, yet evolves behind closed doors in Washington. On and on…
My question is, when will the young folks who hoped for change going to realize they have been hoodwinked? Luckily, empty pockets and empty stomachs have a way of turning pawns into Patriots.
In my great highly taxed state of North Carolina, a Conservative themed kiosk was not given a renewal of its lease. The “Free Market Warrior” in the Concord Mills Mall in Concord sold merchandise critical of Obama. The management of the mall received complaints about the trinket stand. Letters to a local newspaper was also a strong influence on the managements decision, citing that the material sold was not “Neutral” enough. The owner of the kiosk complained that there was plenty of pro-Obama merchandise for sale.
To the management of the Simon Property Group, the owners of Concord Mills, neutral means whatever will sell without conflict. There may also be some power-hungry Liberals and spineless moderates in the Simon Property Group that have chosen to silence opposition. Either way, eventually they will change their minds. When the economy does not recover and Concord Mills becomes the local soup kitchen, they may realize just how well change does for them. But, before the mall becomes a soup kitchen,anti-Obama merchandise will become popular. This time it may be the Simon Property Group who opens up their own Conservative kiosk. Capitalism is a great cure for socialistic tendencies.
A letter to the editor in the Charlotte Observer. The author was a recent college graduate:
“Free Market Warrior, a kiosk located adjacent to Bass Pro Shops, specializes in memorabilia embellished with pro-confederacy statements as well as those opposing both the government and President Obama. In addition, these products support ideas such as racisms, sexism, and even slavery. While freedom of speech is a Constitutional right it’s difficult not to believe that something just isn’t quite right here.
“I find it appalling that Concord Mills, North Carolina’s #1 visitor attraction, would condone such a message to be portrayed by their vendors and can’t imagine how the outside visitors’ perceptions of North Carolinians have been skewed by such an establishment.
“It’s hard to stay open-minded when such uncivilized and outdated ideas are endorsed on a daily basis. It’s 2009; please, let’s at least try to put this type of bigotry to an end.”
