Many African-Americans look to the election of Obama as an indirect way to receiving reparations. The wealth distribution that Obama is implementing through stimulus plans, environmental legislation and healthcare reforms is Black America’s revenge upon White America. Many in the African American community may openly deny this. But, the whole premise of government for Democrats hinges upon taking from the wealthy to openly distribute to the “less fortunate.” Who do African American’s overwhelmingly support in government elections? Democrats. Or better yet, “Gimme-dats.”
Even though Obama has been on record for opposing reparations, he does believe in providing minorities with economic outpatient care. A handout is a handout, no matter how it is described and issued.
Is it fair for African-American’s to only receive reparations from the endless cloud of wealth in America? A survey of history shows that even White Irish descendants such as myself have an axe to grind with the crusaders of the New World. In fact, Irishmen were the first slaves to cut the scar of slavery into the young Americas. My unfortunate ancestors were cheaper and more disposable than Africans.
Despite this history, my family has chiseled their existence day to day without begging or expecting anything from someone else. We have made our way through the attenuation of our own talents and abilities, not through the destruction of others. The thought of a handout would be an insult to our name.
So, it can be assumed that the desire of African Americans to have reparations demonstrates the character of individuals and the culture they construct for themselves. Receiving direct and indirect reparations insults their own ancestors. If African Americans could hear their slave descendants speaking, they would hear their cries:
“Take nothing from anyone, make your own way. At last, be free. Do not act like and live as slaves anymore.”
White slave historical reference:
White Slavery: The Slaves That Time Forgot. By, John Martin
They came as slaves; vast human cargo transported on tall British ships bound for the Americas. They were shipped by the hundreds of thousands and included men, women, and even the youngest of children.
Whenever they rebelled or even disobeyed an order, they were punished in the harshest ways. Slave owners would hang their human property by their hands and set their hands or feet on fire as one form of punishment. They were burned alive and had their heads placed on pikes in the marketplace as a warning to other captives.
We don’t really need to go through all of the gory details, do we? After all, we know all too well the atrocities of the African slave trade. But, are we talking about African slavery?
King James II and Charles I led a continued effort to enslave the Irish. Britain’s famed Oliver Cromwell furthered this practice of dehumanizing one’s next door neighbor.
The Irish slave trade began when James II sold 30,000 Irish prisoners as slaves to the New World. His Proclamation of 1625 required Irish political prisoners be sent overseas and sold to English settlers in the West Indies. By the mid 1600s, the Irish were the main slaves sold to Antigua and Montserrat. At that time, 70% of the total population of Montserrat were Irish slaves.
Ireland quickly became the biggest source of human livestock for English merchants. The majority of the early slaves to the New World were actually white.
From 1641 to 1652, over 500,000 Irish were killed by the English and another 300,000 were sold as slaves. Ireland’s population fell from about 1,500,000 to 600,000 in one single decade. Families were ripped apart as the British did not allow Irish dads to take their wives and children with them across the Atlantic. This led to a helpless population of homeless women and children. Britain’s solution was to auction them off as well.
During the 1650s, over 100,000 Irish children between the ages of 10 and 14 were taken from their parents and sold as slaves in the West Indies, Virginia and New England. In this decade, 52,000 Irish (mostly women and children) were sold to Barbados and Virginia. Another 30,000 Irish men and women were also transported and sold to the highest bidder. In 1656, Cromwell ordered that 2000 Irish children be taken to Jamaica and sold as slaves to English settlers.
Many people today will avoid calling the Irish slaves what they truly were: Slaves. They’ll come up with terms like “Indentured Servants” to describe what occurred to the Irish. However, in most cases from the 17th and 18th centuries, Irish slaves were nothing more than human cattle.
As an example, the African slave trade was just beginning during this same period. It is well recorded that African slaves, not tainted with the stain of the hated Catholic theology and more expensive to purchase, were often treated far better than their Irish counterparts.
African slaves were very expensive during the late 1600s (50 Sterling). Irish slaves came cheap (no more than 5 Sterling). If a planter whipped or branded or beat an Irish slave to death, it was never a crime. A death was a monetary setback, but far cheaper than killing a more expensive African.
The English masters quickly began breeding the Irish women for both their own personal pleasure and for greater profit. Children of slaves were themselves slaves, which increased the size of the master’s free workforce. Even if an Irish woman somehow obtained her freedom, her kids would remain slaves of her master. Thus, Irish moms, even with this new found emancipation, would seldom abandon their kids and would remain in servitude.
In time, the English thought of a better way to use these women (in many cases, girls as young as 12) to increase their market share: The settlers began to breed Irish women and girls with African men to produce slaves with a distinct complexion. These new “mulatto” slaves brought a higher price than Irish livestock and, likewise, enabled the settlers to save money rather than purchase new African slaves.
This practice of interbreeding Irish females with African men went on for several decades and was so widespread that, in 1681, legislation was passed “forbidding the practice of mating Irish slave women to African slave men for the purpose of producing slaves for sale.” In short, it was stopped only because it interfered with the profits of a large slave transport company.
England continued to ship tens of thousands of Irish slaves for more than a century. Records state that, after the 1798 Irish Rebellion, thousands of Irish slaves were sold to both America and Australia.
There were horrible abuses of both African and Irish captives. One British ship even dumped 1,302 slaves into the Atlantic Ocean so that the crew would have plenty of food to eat.
There is little question that the Irish experienced the horrors of slavery as much (if not more in the 17th Century) as the Africans did. There is, also, very little question that those brown, tanned faces you witness in your travels to the West Indies are very likely a combination of African and Irish ancestry.
In 1839, Britain finally decided on it’s own to end it’s participation in Satan’s highway to hell and stopped transporting slaves. While their decision did not stop pirates from doing what they desired, the new law slowly concluded THIS chapter of nightmarish Irish misery.
But, if anyone, black or white, believes that slavery was only an African experience, then they’ve got it completely wrong.

Glen Beck has declared he will doing some community organizing. In a teaching seminar format, he will be pumping up the party with knowledge needed when hitting the streets. If Obama can do it, so can Glen.
Interestingly, the article says Beck sounds more like a Presidential Candidate than a talk show host. Glen as President? Wow, now that would be quite a shakeup of Washington for sure. Obama better hope he does not run. The people are looking for someone to carry the torch of conservatism back to DC. Glen Beck is already holding the torch, he just needs marching orders.

Former jail bird, Martha Stewart, has commented on Sarah Palin saying she is dangerous. How right Stewart is! Palin is dangerous to liberalism and statist elitism. Who really cares what a criminal thinks of Palin, anyway? Yes, I know. Only liberals do.
This is another example of typical Democrat disdain for the common American. Stewart made her riches appealing to the common American woman. Her domestic goodies and household tips have filled many homes for years. Now Stewart is part of the rich liberal elite that will take people’s money, yet hate them for it.
Stewart also said Palin was boring. It takes one to know one. When my kids were babies, we got our best naps during the diva’s divine time on the airwaves.
I bet Sarah Palin does not even have any Martha Stewart crap in her loving home. That probably burns Martha up the most. Stewart knows Palin could care less about her opinions. It sounds like Marxist Martha Stewart can not stand the heat in Palin’s kitchen.
Responses to my commentary of Sarah Palin’s new book, “Going Rogue” have been interesting. One relates the fictional ship, the Kobayashi Maru, to Sarah Palin calling her a fake politician. While I was referencing the scenario and not the actual ship in my post it does not matter. It is Obama who is a cheap simulation of a politician, not Palin.
The American public knew less about Obama than any other Presidential candidate ever. The Obama campaign has admitted lately to being actively involved in producing the news about Obama for the press. Loose mouthed liberals in the media were voicing that “…we really don’t who Barack Obama is…” on the eve of the election. Obama’s operatives created a carefully created facade. That is the definition of a fictional politician.
Another revealing part of the equation is the KGB-style “fact-checking” of Palin’s book. In contrast, the blind followers of the “party” spread the content of Obama’s book like propaganda.
Another blogger smartly points out that Palin actually beat the the Kobayashi Maru. Excellent point. Either way you approach it, Palin wins. The no win situation is this: the press can no longer parade Obama like a puppet. When people figure out they are being lied too, they will turn to something real. Palin is real, Obama is not.
In classic liberal stupidity, Newsweek plastered a stolen photo of Sarah Palin on its cover. This publicity given to Palin is a huge boost to her popularity. It also stimulates the economy by expanding sales of Newsweek magazine. But, the big impact to mainstream America is being totally overlooked by the media.
Imagine the common American woman in the checkout line of the grocery store. She is in a hurry wanting to get home. She is tired and probably thinking of some stressful aspect of their life. She sees the picture of Palin in running shorts and thinks, “Wow, she is pretty. How many kids did she have?” The cover generates an appreciation of Palin’s fit legs and sassy smile. She admires this hot mom. Deep down, she wants to think of herself in the same way. The thought, “I am a hot mom” echoes in her mind.
Upon scanning some of the article, she may find similarities to her own hectic life. She relates to raising a husband, growing a career and keeping children moving forward. Believe it or not, this Palin woman really adores her husband and kids and identifies herself with her family. That really sounds like herself, come to think of it.
Those mean back-biting weasels she works with—sound just like the liberal press. They are constantly looking for something bad to say. The press is jealous of Palin in the same way those other tramps in the office mumble about the kids’ baseball and dance photos, she contemplates.
Later, this American woman hears that the Newsweek photo was posted illegally in violation of the contract of the original publisher. Newsweek acted just like her ex-husband, being a liar and cheater. It took time, but she recovered from that slime bag’s actions. The American woman realizes that she is a strong and viable force, just like Sarah. Hey, she could be President, too. If she can be President, then so can Sarah.
